Julie’s Home Run
God was it ever hot! Julie was sweating buckets, she was standing in line on the kickball field behind her best friend Marge. Marge was wearing grey sweat pants with a plain white T-shirt. Her hair was up in a ponytail. Julie had her hair in braids and was wearing brown shorts with a blue shirt. They were playing kickball and there team was losing. If Marge scored the game would be tied. After that it would be up to Julie to win the game. Marge stepped up to kick as the ball rolled towards her. Wow it went right into the soccer field! Marge started running and so did the other team. But the other team was running for the ball and Marge was running for home. Marge made it to second just as the other team picked up the ball. They threw the ball at Marge but missed and it rolled towards the pitcher! By that time Marge was halfway home. YAAAY! Yelled a very excited team! Marge had tied the game! Now it was all up to Julie. She stepped onto home plate and the pitcher rolled the ball towards her. BAM it went right over the pitchers head and into the football field. Julie sped off as she headed towards 1rst the other team ran towards the ball. She made it and ran on to second when she was three quarters of the way when the ball was thrown at her. She dodged and stepped onto second making her way to third. Again the ball was thrown at her and again it missed. It rolled into the sandpit as she jumped onto third and ran as fast as she could towards home! One of the opposing team members had the ball and was running towards home. Julie ran then slid! She made it! YES they had won!
